HOW DOES IT WORK?

No More F*ckin Around will redefine your relationship with photography and catapult your creative process and business in new ways! Through our Mentored Instruction, you will have an immersive experience, support, and guidance through the realm of visual storytelling and business.

A dynamic curriculum is delivered through the DFP Education platform and live class discussion via Zoom, where you'll not only absorb comprehensive content but also receive support. You will work through engaging assignments meticulously curated to fuel your growth, accompanied by insightful feedback and critique that will shape your craft.

You will also take part in a private discussion group, where mentors (and fellow students) share wisdom, providing you with a collaborative space to cultivate ideas. Live group Zoom meetings are held 3-4 times a month, fostering inspiring discussions and forging connections with fellow photographers. In addition, you will receive personalized 1 on 1 support to illuminate your unique path.

We’ve helped many photographers over the years with the strategies we teach in this program. Becaue of the access to the circulum, tools, resources, templates, videos, etc. and the online nature of this program, there are no refunds available under any circumstance. Make sure you make an informed decision about joining, as your purchase is a commitment to 12 months amd you are responsible for completing your payments.

FAQ

  • Group Zoom sessions take place on Wednesdays at 10:00 am PST / 1pm EST / 7pm Berlin.

    Group sessions are 3-4 times per month, with the other Wednesday of the month saved for one-on-ones (for those who choose the 1:1 option). You will schedule the time on the mentors’ calendar that works best for you that month.

  • It’s no problem if you miss a live session.

    All live group sessions are recorded and will be uploaded to the education platform for you to access.

  • The Short Answer:
    You don’t wait to strengthen your roof until the storm has passed. You fortify while it’s still raining. That’s what this mentorship is: shelter, structure, and a damn good flashlight to help guide the way.

    The Long Answer:

  • Students should have a solid understanding of the technical aspects of their camera. We consider NMFA an advanced program because it cuts out any fluff and requires actual work and implementation (which we help you with ;) And even though there is no fluff, we still have fun!). The concepts and topics covered in the program are meant to challenge you and empower you through hands-on assignments and feedback, along with deeper discussions and an analytical eye on your own work. 
    Past students have come into the program at varying skill levels, and the feedback we have received has been similar across the board… that it is a life-changing program, worth every cent.

  • Yes, NMFA can still work for you (if your goal is to have your work seen in some way).

    The photography lessons will help with developing a deeper body of work and a new way of seeing and leaning into yor voice.

    And the business lessons can be adapted to work for you. For example, the branding work instead turns into creating your artists statement and finding ways you will show up to create opportunities such as publications, exhibitions, etc.

    Almost all business lessons can be adaptable and applicable to your goals.

  • No! We have had wedding photographers, fine art photographers, birth photographers, pet photographers and more in previous program runs.

    The foundations and advanced concepts you will learn in NMFA can be applied to your work no matter the genre; however, the photography assignments are based around the documentary approach, which you can tweak to fit into your chosen approach/genre.

    NMFA aims to provide you with courage and clarity in your photography and business, enabling you to continuously grow and find success in your work no matter the genre.

  • You will have access to the content via the DFP Education platform for 24 months (12 months during the program and then an additional 12 months after). Written content and templates are available for download. so you can you will have those for life!

  • Time commitment per week will vary depending on the lesson for that week/month.
    Here is what we do know-
    You can count on weekly live group sessions (or at least 3-4 times a month as some assignments need more time before meeting again) and then one 1-on-1 per month (if you have chosen the 1-on-1 option).

    Live Group calls usually last about 1.5 to 2 hours (sometimes a bit longer) and are recorded. If needed, you can pop in and out, and if you know you are going to miss a call, you can submit your questions, photos, assignments, etc., beforehand and then watch the recording at 1.5x speed ;) 

    1-on-1s are 30 minutes (we say you can schedule for 30 mins, but obviously, we don't just cut the call at 30 mins. and 1 second ;) ), and you get to choose which time and date you want your one on ones each month. We share a scheduling calendar with you, and you select which time and day work best for you.

    For the assignments-
    During photography months, you will typically be asked to find a family or subject to photograph and to spend a certain amount of time with them (1 hour, 4-6 hours, full day) and then select photos to submit for review/critique.

    You can plan on roughly 10 hours per month during the business months, depending on the assignment/topic. Time commitment varies because some assignments take a bit more time than others and require introspective work or research. If you need to spread the time out more, you can still work on your business assignments during your photography months and submit for feedback once you have completed the assignment.

  • It's okay to be nervous! 
    There could be several reasons for the nerves, whether it be the time investment, the financial investment, the worry that you are not "good enough" for the program, or any other number of things. 
     
    Our job as your mentors is to support you through those nerves and to provide you with an encouraging environment, turning those nerves into courage. You've got this!

We’re here to give you clarity, tools, support, and various strategies based on our experiences, but we can’t guarantee specific results. Your success depends on your own effort, commitment, follow-through, and unique circumstances.

Every photographer’s journey is different. We can’t predict where yours will go, but if you show up and do the work, this can be a powerful part of it and you will get a lot further than staying stuck and scrolling social media.

We give you just the real stuff that works when you work it, know what we mean?

No copy and paste, idealistic strategy that requires a severe Type A personality to keep up with (nothin’ against Type A’s btw)… because every photographer has a different background, different goals, and their own version of success. And let’s face it, us creatives are a bit messy and all over the place.
So instead of some “guru” bullshit, we give you support, clarity, and various ways to approach things, ideas, real world examples, helpful guidance, etc. and depending on your unique situation you choose what fits best for you.
